When you refresh package data on a Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007 distribution point, the package is copied from the compressed version on the site server but not updated from the original source. Refreshing the package does not increment the package version.

To refresh package data on a distribution point

  1. In the Configuration Manager console, navigate to System Center Configuration Manager / Site Database / Computer Management / Software Distribution / Package / <package name>.

  2. Right-click Distribution Point, and then click Refresh Distribution Points.

    Note
You can also update a package's distribution points by right-clicking the package name and then clicking Refresh Distribution Points.
  3. Click Yes to confirm that you want to update the package on the selected distribution point with a new version of the package.
