Use the General tab of the Configuration Manager 2007 Active Directory Domain Services Setting Properties to define your own name and description of this setting, and to define the Active Directory Domain Services setting that will be used to assess compliance on client computers.

This tab contains the following elements:

Display name

Specifies the name of the Active Directory Domain Services setting you will see in the Configuration Manager 2007 administrator console.
Description

Specifies the description for the Active Directory Domain Services setting. The description should give an overview of the Active Directory Domain Services setting and other relevant information that helps identify it among other Active Directory Domain Services settings.
LDAP prefix

Specifies a valid LDAP prefix to the Active Directory Domain Services query to assess compliance on client computers. You can use either LDAP:// or GC://.
Distinguished Name (DN)

Specifies the distinguished name of the Active Directory Domain Services object that will be assessed for compliance on client computers.
LDAP filter

Specifies an optional LDAP filter to refine the results from the Active Directory Domain Services query to assess compliance on client computers.
Search scope

Specifies the search scope in Active Directory Domain Services:
  • Specified path queries only the object specified.

  • Specified path and the first level of subfolders This option is not used in this version of Configuration Manager 2007.

  • Specified path and all subfolders queries the object specified and its complete subtree in the directory.

Property

Specifies the property of the Active Directory Domain Services object that will be used to assess compliance on client computers.
Query

Displays the LDAP query constructed from the entries in LDAP Prefix, Distinguished Name, LDAP Filter (if present) and Property, which will be used to assess compliance on client computers.
OK

Saves the changes and exits the dialog box.
Cancel

Exits the dialog box without saving any changes.
Help

Opens the help topic for this tab of the dialog box.
