Use the Distribution Point tab of the Configuration Manager 2007 Software Distribution Properties dialog box to specify concurrent distribution settings, including maximum threads per package as well as software distribution retry settings.
The Distribution Point tab contains the following elements:
- Concurrent distribution settings
- Specifies the number of packages and maximum threads per
package. Two settings are available:
- Maximum number of packages: Specifies
the maximum number of packages that Configuration Manager 2007
copies, in parallel.
- Maximum threads per package: Specifies
the maximum number of threads allocated to each package during
distribution.
- Maximum number of packages: Specifies
the maximum number of packages that Configuration Manager 2007
copies, in parallel.
- Retry settings
- Specifies the retry settings that Distribution Manager will
attempt when an initial software distribution attempt fails. Two
settings are available:
- Number of retries: Specifies the
number of times that Distribution Manager attempts to distribute
the software. Valid entries range from 1 to 1,000 attempts. The
default value is 100 attempts
- Delay before retrying (minutes):
Specifies the interval between retry attempts when a previous
attempt fails. Valid entries range from 1 to 1,440 minutes (24
hours). The default value is 30 minutes.
- Number of retries: Specifies the
number of times that Distribution Manager attempts to distribute
the software. Valid entries range from 1 to 1,000 attempts. The
default value is 100 attempts
- Send package from the nearest site in the hierarchy
- Specifies that when a new distribution point is created, or when a site's distribution point is targeted to receive a new package, the source files are retrieved from the closest higher-level site in the hierarchy.
