Name

Specifies the name of the software update deployment. The name must be unique, help to describe the objective of the deployment, and identify it from others in the Deployments node of the Configuration Manager console. The deployment name is a required field, is limited to 63 characters, and has a default value of "<vender name> Updates - <date and time>". For example, a deployment created on 9/28/2006 at 10:10:00 AM and with software updates from Microsoft Update will default to Microsoft Updates - 9/28/2006 10:10:00 AM.

Description

Specifies the description for the software update deployment. The description should provide an overview of the deployment configuration and any other relevant information that helps to identify the deployment among others in the Deployments node of the Configuration Manager console.

The description field is optional, has a limit of 256 characters, and has a blank value by default.
