The Task Sequences node displays a list of the task sequences that have been created, the actions that can be run, and, when a task sequence is selected from the Task Sequences results pane, specific actions that can be run for that task sequence.
The task sequences that have been created are displayed in a list in the Task Sequences results pane. The Name column is used as the default sort order. The following columns are displayed by default:
- Name: The name of the task sequence as
specified by the Configuration Manager Administrator.
- Comment: The optional comment entered
for the task sequence.
- Task ID: The ID number created by
Configuration Manager 2007 for the task sequence.
- Creation date: The date and time that
the task sequence was created.
You can filter the task sequences that are displayed in the Task Sequences results pane using the four filter actions located above the list.
- Look For
- Enter all or part of a task sequence name, or use the drop-down list to select from existing filter criteria.
- Search In
- Select the column to use when applying the filter criteria.
- Find Now
- Click Find Now to run the filter.
- Clear
- Click Clear to remove the filter and display the entire list.
When a specific task sequence is selected in the Task Sequences results pane, the General tab on the lower half of the Task Sequences results pane displays the following properties of the task sequence:
- Task Sequence name
- Description
- Task ID
- Optional category associated with the task
sequence
- Boot images associated with the task
sequence
You can select the following default actions grouped under Task Sequences in the Actions pane. You can collapse the default actions by clicking the up arrow in the Task Sequences section header.
- Import
- Select this action to import task sequences that have been exported from other Configuration Manager 2007 sites.
- Create Task Sequence Media
- Select this action to run the Task Sequence Media Wizard.
- New
- Select this action to run the New Task Sequence Wizard or to create a new folder under the highlighted node in the console tree.
- View
- Select this action to add or remove columns in the Task Sequences results pane, to export the list of task sequences to a tab-delimited or comma-delimited text or unicode text file, and to hide the filter bar in the Task Sequences results pane.
- New Window from Here
- Select this action to display a new Configuration Manager console window rooted at the selected node in the console tree.
- Refresh
- Select this action to refresh the Configuration Manager console display.
- Properties
- Select this item to display general properties for the Task Sequences node, and to set class security on that node.
- Help
- Select this action to display Configuration Manager 2007 product help for this node.
When you select a specific task sequence in the Task Sequences results pane, you can run the following actions grouped under the Task Sequences section in the Actions pane. You can collapse the default actions by clicking the up arrow in that section header.
- Edit
- Select this action to run the Task Sequence Editor.
- Export
- Select this action to export the selected task sequence to a tab-delimited or comma-delimited text or unicode text file.
- Create Task Sequence Media
- Select this action to run the Task Sequence Media Wizard.
- Duplicate
- Select this action to create a copy of the selected task sequence.
- Advertise
- Select this action to run the New Advertisement Wizard.
- Cut
- Select this action to cut the selected task sequence to paste in another Task Sequence folder in this tree.
- Move Items
- Select this action to launch the Move Items dialog box. You can move the selected task sequence to an available container by clicking the appropriate folder and clicking the Move button.
- Delete
- Select this action to delete the task sequence. When you delete a task sequence, you will be prompted to confirm the deletion.
- Refresh
- Select this action to refresh the Configuration Manager console display.
- Properties
- Select this item to display detailed properties for the selected task sequence.
- Help
- Select this action to display Configuration Manager 2007 product help for this node.
