When you migrate a Configuration Manager 2007 site from mixed mode to native mode, or you want to track the progress of migrating sites in the hierarchy, run the report Summary information of clients in native mode to monitor the change of site mode for clients. This report displays the current site mode of clients and their assigned site.
Additionally, you can check the site mode of a single client using the Site Mode property displayed in Configuration Manager in the Control Panel of a client computer. For this procedure, see How to Determine the Site Mode for a Configuration Manager Client.
For more information about site modes, see Configuration Manager Site Modes.
To monitor the site mode of multiple clients, use the following procedure.
Note |
---|
If you are in the process of migrating a site to native mode (or reverting a site to mixed mode) and the site publishes to Active Directory Domain Services, clients that can access this published information will automatically change their site mode so that it synchronizes with their assigned site. However, this process can take some time to complete, typically two polling cycles of the client computer's policy. The policy is configured in the computer client agent properties, and by default is configured for every 60 minutes. |
Procedure
To monitor the site mode of clients using a report:
-
In the Configuration Manager console, navigate to the Reports node, click the Category column to sort the reports so that you can more easily find the reports with the category of Site - Client Information.
-
Right-click the report Summary information of clients in native mode, and then select Run.
-
Close the report.
