If you need to cancel a program while it is in the process of downloading, this can be done using Program Download Monitor. If a download is canceled, it will start from the beginning of the download if it is restarted later.

To cancel a program download

  1. Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-click Program Download Monitor.

  2. In Program Download Monitor, select the download program from the list.

  3. Click Cancel.

  4. In Program Download, click Yes to confirm the cancellation.

Note
To cancel a program download immediately, click Cancel in the Program Download Status window.
