This is a common dialog box, we cannot provide help topics for it.

Location

The location to browse for an Active Directory container.

Local Domain

Indicates that you want to browse for Active Directory containers in the domain where the computer running the Configuration Manager 2007 console resides.

Local Forest

Indicates that you want to browse for Active Directory containers in the forest where the computer running the Configuration Manager 2007 console resides.

Custom LDAP or GC query

Indicates that you want to browse for Active Directory containers using a Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) query or global catalog (GC) query. This option activates Browse.

Path

Enter an LDAP query command to find an Active Directory container within a particular domain, or enter a GC query command to find an Active Directory container within multiple domains.

Browse

Opens the Select New Container dialog box, where you can select a single Active Directory container.

Search options

Allows you to specify whether to use recursive searches and whether Active Directory groups are searched.

Recursive

Default. When selected, indicates that Active Directory discovery searches child containers. Otherwise, child containers are not searched.

Include groups

When selected, Active Directory discovery discovers objects within groups. The consequence of discovering objects within groups is that the likelihood of discovering the same object more than once is increased. Also, when include groups is selected, you can discover objects in other domains. When include groups is not selected, duplicate objects and objects in other domains are less likely to be found. This results in the discovery process completing more quickly.
