Missing Operating System Error When Booting Using USB Media

When you start a target computer using USB media and you receive a "Missing Operating System" error.

Solution

Some computer BIOS versions do not recognize all USB media as bootable. Use different USB media to start the computer.

Hash Value Errors when Creating Task Sequences

If you are not an administrator on the computer where you are running the Configuration Manager 2007 console, you will get the error "The hash value is not correct" when trying to create task sequence media.

Solution

Use an account that is an administrator on the Configuration Manager 2007 console computer when creating task sequence media. Users of the Configuration Manager 2007 console do not require administrative rights to the Configuration Manager 2007 console computer. However, if the user does not have local administrator rights, the user must first run MMC and then add the Configuration Manager 2007 snap-in to create a new console session. The user can then save the console session and run the new session without administrator rights on the local computer.

The exception is when you try to create task sequence media. If you are not an administrator on the computer where you are running the Configuration Manager 2007 console, you will get the error "The hash value is not correct" when trying to create task sequence media.
