Use the Virtual Applications tab of the Configuration Manager 2007 ConfigMgr distribution point Properties dialog box to enable the distribution point for streaming virtual applications to target computers. Streaming enables computers to run a virtual application package directly from a distribution point. Streaming virtual application packages to Configuration Manager 2007 workgroup clients is not supported.

The information in this topic applies only to Configuration Manager 2007 R2 and Configuration Manager 2007 R3.

The Virtual Applications tab contains the following elements:

Enable virtual application streaming

Enables the distribution point for streaming virtual application packages to target computers. If you plan to run virtual application packages from a distribution point, you must select this option. For this option to be available on the General tab, you must select Allow clients to transfer content from this distribution point using BITS, HTTP, and HTTPS (required for device clients and Internet-based clients).. Configuration Manager 2007 clients assigned to a branch distribution point will connect and run virtual application packages using server message block SMB.
Apply

Saves the changes without closing the dialog box.
