Use the Password Policy for MSFP Properties: Device Security tab of the Configuration Manager 2007 configuration item properties dialog box to specify the properties of the password policy to distribute to mobile devices. Mobile devices must have the Windows Mobile 5.0 or later Messaging and Security Feature Pack (MSFP) installed to use this configuration item.

Specify the settings of the configuration item to be distributed to mobile devices.

Enforce password on device

Specifies that the password policy settings on the mobile device be enforced.
Minimum PIN length (digits)

Specifies the minimum number of characters in password on the mobile device.
Require both numbers and letters

Specifies that the password must include both numbers and letters.
Inactivity time

Specifies the number of minutes that the device can be idle before requiring the password to be reentered.
Wipe device after failed (attempts)

Specifies a number of failed authentication attempts after which user data on the phone is removed from the mobile device. Phone storage card data is not deleted.
Enforce password history

Specifies that a new password must be used when the password is changed. This prevents users from reusing an old password within the Maximum passwords remembered limit.
Maximum passwords remembered

Specifies how many old passwords are remembered to test against the enforced password history.
OK

Saves the changes and exits the dialog box.
Cancel

Exits the dialog box without saving any changes.
Apply

Saves the changes and remains in the dialog box.
Help

Opens the help topic for this tab of the dialog box.
