Network Monitor, its related tools, and SNMP Event to Trap Translator add network management features to SMS. Network monitor captures network data for analysis while the SNMP Event to Trap Translator sends SNMP trap events to Network Management Systems.
The exercises in this chapter require that you have completed all exercises in Chapters 2, 3, and 4, so that Computer 1 is a Windows NT Server version 4.0 site server and Computer 2 is running Windows NT Workstation version 4.0 with SP4a installed.
