The first six fields in the product compliance database — Name, Version, Revision, Company, Language, and Platform — are "friendly" fields. These fields enable you to assign an easily identified name to each product. Because many manufacturers do not have standards for the fields that appear in the header files of their products, it might not be easy for you to recognize the exact product by the header name. You can add friendly names to help you easily recognize the products listed in your database.
