Install Network Monitor Directly from the SMS Compact Disc

You can install Network Monitor by running the SMS Setup program from the Systems Management Server version 2.0 compact disc and selecting Network Monitor as an option, or by running the Network Monitor Setup program from the same compact disc.

Note   If you install Network Monitor by running the Network Monitor Setup program rather than running SMS Setup, you will not be able to start Network Monitor or the Monitor Control Tool from within the SMS Administrator console. Instead, you must access these two tools from the Start menu.

To install Network Monitor directly from the SMS 2.0 compact disc, use the following procedure:

  1. Insert the SMS 2.0 compact disc into the computer's CD-ROM drive. SMS Setup starts automatically.
  2. Click Exit to close the startup window.
  3. In the %sms%\NMext\platform\ directory, double-click Setup.exe.
  4. Follow the instructions in the setup wizard.
