Wizards Overview

In Systems Management Server (SMS) version 2.0, many management tasks require you to access multiple areas of the SMS Administrator console. For example, to distribute software, you must use Collections, Packages, and Advertisements. To make these tasks easier, whether you perform them frequently (in the case of software distribution), or infrequently (in the case of a secondary site upgrade), SMS provides wizards that guide you through these extended processes.

In general, SMS wizards help you perform:

• Complex tasks, such as creating a secondary site.
• Tasks that require you to review information, such as deleting a program.
• Tasks that would otherwise be repetitive, such as managing distribution points.
