Within an SMS hierarchy, there are typically a number of servers and workstations running a variety of software. The SMS Product Compliance feature can assist you in identifying software products in your organization that are affected by the Y2K, Euro, and other compliance issues. By using this feature, you can compare the software inventory gathered from the computers in your SMS site with data contained in your compliance database to determine which software needs your attention. Then, you can use the Software Distribution feature to update software or add specific patches to bring software in your organization into compliance.
