Network Monitor is an SMS tool you can use to detect and troubleshoot problems on LANs, WANs, or serial links running Microsoft Remote Access Server (RAS). You can capture frames (also called packets) directly from the network and then display, filter, and edit them. With SMS 2.0, Network Monitor provides experts, which analyze captured data and provide important information for solving network problems. Monitors enable you to identify network problems using real-time data. You can also capture frames at a remote computer on another network segment and then display the capture statistics on the local computer at specified intervals.
