Software metering can help you ensure that your company uses software efficiently and legally. With software metering, you can monitor and control the use of applications on all computers in your site — even on portable computers that are used away from the network. You can control the number of concurrent software products running, and provide automatic callbacks to notify users when a requested application is available for use. You also can prevent the use of specific applications on your network.
To meter software in your site, you must configure client, server, and component properties. After you configure metering, you can meter and control the use of software within your site, and you can use the metering tools to refine, review, and analyze application usage. You can also view software metering status.
