When you specify a file that you want to collect, Systems Management Server (SMS) searches for that file when it runs a software inventory scan on each client in the site. If Software Inventory Agent finds a file that should be collected, that file is attached to the inventory file and sent to the site server.
To specify the files that you want to collect from clients in a site, use the File Collection tab in the Software Inventory Client Agent Properties dialog box (in Site Settings).
