Queries are composed of several different elements that make up the query criteria. The complexity of the query depends on which elements are used and how they are applied. Query elements can be divided into two categories: required elements and optional elements.
To create a valid query, you must include the following elements. You use the General tab of the Query Properties dialog box and the General tab of the Query Statement Properties dialog box to add these elements.
These elements are not required for a valid query, but you can use them to refine query results. You use the Criteria tab and the Joins tab of the Query Statement Properties dialog box to add these elements.
