The Manage Distribution Points Wizard

The Manage Distribution Points Wizard guides you through the steps necessary to send, update, refresh, or delete package data on distribution points so that programs within the current package can be advertised to clients.

As you complete the wizard, you will be prompted to specify the following information:

Action

Specify one of the following actions:

• Copy the package data to new distribution points.
• Update the package on existing distribution points with a new version of the package source files.

• Important    Updating distribution points with a new package source version automatically applies to all distribution points defined for the package, to ensure consistent package source files are used.

• Refresh one or more distribution points with the current package source version.
• Remove the package from one or more distribution points.

Distribution Points

Select the distribution points that you want to add, update, refresh, or remove. If you are copying the package data to new distribution points, the list contains only the distribution points in the site that do not currently support the package. If you are refreshing or removing package data on distribution points, the list contains only the distribution points that currently support the package.

To select a group of distribution points to add, update, or remove, click Select Group (which opens the Browse Distribution Point Group dialog box).
