About the SMS Client Remote Installation Account

Client Configuration Manager (CCM) uses the SMS Client Remote Installation account to install the SMS client software on:

This account is optional in Windows NT environments. (If no account is specified, CCM uses the SMS Service account.) However, you might want to specify this account because the SMS Service account has administrator rights on all servers. The SMS Client Remote Installation account, however, needs only local administrator rights on all Windows NT site systems and client candidates.

Note   The SMS Client Remote Installation account is required for Windows NT computers in NetWare environments, because NetWare resources will not use the SMS Service account. You must specify an SMS Client Remote Installation account or NetWare resources will be unable to complete client installation.
