The Patch Installed For Product MSI rule is used when creating or modifying custom updates in the Custom Updates Publishing Tool. Most often it is used as a prerequisite type rule. The specified MSI information about the software update is verified with what is found on the client. If the rule does not pass verification, the custom update is considered not needed on the client. The Patch Installed for Product rule has the following configuration settings:
- Patch Code: Specifies the GUID for a software update
created to update a specific product. This is a required field.
- Product Code: Specifies the GUID for a specific product
release. This is a required field.
- Maximum Version: Specifies the maximum version for the
MSI file. This is an optional field.
- Minimum Version: Specifies the minimum version for the
MSI file. This is an optional field.
- Language: Specifies the language for the file. This is
an optional field.
