The Processor Architecture basic rule is used when creating or modifying custom updates in the Custom Updates Publishing Tool. Most often it is used as a prerequisite rule. The specified processor architecture is verified with what is found on the client. If the rule does not pass verification, the custom update is considered not needed on the client. The Processor Architecture rule has one drop-down menu with the following architectures:
- x86: Detects systems with x86 processors.
- x64: Detects systems with EMT64T and AMD64 processors.
- IA64: Detects systems with IA64 processors.
