The WMI Query basic rule is used when creating or modifying custom updates in the Custom Updates Publishing Tool. It can be used as a prerequisite, applicability, or installed type rule. The WMI query is run against WMI on the client, and if the query returns as false, the custom update is considered not needed, not applicable, or not installed on the client. The WMI Query rule has the following configuration settings:
- WMI Namespace: Specifies the namespace against where the
query is run in WMI. This is an optional field.
- WMI Query: Specifies the WMI query to run against the
configured namespace. This is a required field.
