After completing all the steps to install Microsoft System Center Reporting Manager (SCRM) 2006, you need to import the Report Collections that are appropriate for your business environment, including those supporting Management Packs deployed in your organization. For information about running SCRM 2006 reports, see the SCRM 2006 Reporting Guide on the SCRM 2006 Web site (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=60543).

The user must have the Content Manager or Publisher role in SQL Server Reporting Services and must belong to the SC DW Administrator group on the SCRM computer.

In a distributed environment, the user should be a domain user, should be added to the SC DW Administrator group on the SCRM 2006 computer, and should have a Content Manager or Publisher role on the SQL Server Reporting Services computer.

For more information about configuring SQL Server Reporting Services, see the Web page "Using Role-Based Security" (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=60754).

To import Report Collections

  1. In the SCRM Administrator console, navigate to and right-click the Report Collections node.

  2. Right-click Report Collections, and select Import Reports to launch the Import Reports Wizard.

  3. On the Import Reports Wizard - Welcome screen, click Next.

  4. On the Reports Collection Folder screen, specify or browse to the report collections file folder. Typically, this will be <InstallationDirectory>\Microsoft Reporting Manager 2006\Reports. Enter a descriptive comment in the Import Comment field, and click Next.

  5. On the Select Reports screen, use the SHIFT or CTRL keys to select one or more report collections to import.

  6. On the Completing The Imports Wizard screen, review your selections. To change a selection, click Back to return to the appropriate wizard page. Otherwise, click Finish.

    Important
Data will not be available in reports until DTS jobs populate the System Center Data Warehouse from your data sources. You should backup reports in SQL Server Reporting Services before importing new ones. Imported reports of the same name will overwrite existing reports.
  7. The import status screen displays while the reports are imported. After the import has finished, click the Create Log File button to generate a log file for the import.

  8. Press Close to finish the Import Report Collections Wizard.
