If the data source is SMS 2003 SP2 and above, additional steps are required. The SCRM SMS Site Service must be installed on the SMS Source Server.
To do this, copy the ReportingDataSource.msi and the SMSScrSetup_%s.bat files onto the SMS site database server and run the SMS data source setup program (SMSScrSetup_%s.bat) to complete configuration of the new SMS data source. You can find the SMS data source setup program in <Drive>:\<Program Files>\<Install Directory>\Utilities\Data Source Setup\SMS
If the data source is MOM 2005 SP1 and above data source, the following message is displayed:
You have successfully added this data source to the System Center Reporting Manager data warehouse.
A DTS job has been created to transfer data from this data source to the System Center Reporting Manager data warehouse. This DTS job needs to be configured with a Run As account and scheduled before you enable it. This can be done in the properties dialog for the DTS job.
When SMS 2003 SP2 and above data source is added, two jobs are automatically created. One is the Full Sync Job (This will transfer all data from SMS site to data warehouse) and the other is the Delta (This will transfer only data that is modified since the last sync job execution).
For MOM 2005 SP1 and above data source, only one job is created. All jobs are disabled by default.
