You download the Windows Mobile 6.1 Emulator Images from the following Microsoft Web site: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=115896 . The images kit includes the following two files:

To install the Microsoft Device Emulator software, follow these steps on a Windows 32-bit, x86-based computer, such as a computer running Windows XP with Service Pack 2.

To install the Device Emulator software

  1. On the Startmenu, choose Run.

  2. In the Rundialog box, in the Openbox, type explorer, and then choose OK.

  3. In Windows Explorer, navigate to the location where you downloaded the Windows Mobile 6.1 Emulator images.

  4. Double-click the appropriate file:

    • To simulate a Windows Mobile PDA, choose Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional Images (USA).msi.

    • To simulate a Windows Mobile smartphone, choose Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard Images (USA).msi.

  5. On the Welcome to the Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional Emulator Images - USA Setup Wizardpage, choose Next.

  6. On the End-User License Agreementpage, select Accept, and then choose Next.

  7. On the Customer Informationpage, type your user name and organization name, and then choose Next.

  8. On the Destination Folderspage, choose Nextto accept the default installation folder. Or, to specify a different installation folder, choose Change.

  9. On the Ready to Installpage, choose Install.

  10. On the Completing the Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional Emulator Images - USA Setup Wizardpage, choose Finish.
