Use the Edit feature to version changes in a duplicate baseline in the Custom Baselines section of the Baselines Library that you previously locked. You cannot edit baselines from Microsoft without first using the Duplicate feature to make them display in the Custom Baselines section.
Note The Edit feature is designed to allow you to version changes in your custom baselines.
To edit a duplicate baseline
- In the Baselines Library, in the Custom
Baselines section, click the locked custom baseline that you
want to edit, and then in the Action pane, under
Baselines, click Edit.
Note The Edit feature is only available after you select a locked custom baseline.
- On the Edit feature confirmation prompt, click OK
to unlock the custom baseline and create a new version of it that
you can define.
- In the Edit version dialog box, update the custom
baseline name with either a major or minor version number, or a
combination of these values, and then click OK.
Note In order to successfully import a configuration pack generated from a custom baseline into Configuration Manager 2007, you must first increment the version number of the custom baseline. For more information, see the “Export DCM Configuration Packs” topic.
SCM appends the version number to the name of your custom baseline, as illustrated in the following figure.
Note You can only increment a subsequent version number for a custom baseline to a higher value.
You can now modify the updated custom baseline version, and then lock it to access the Edit feature to update the version number again if desired.
Note Deleting a custom baseline version reverts the custom baseline to its previous version.
