Use the following procedure in System Center Essentials 2010 to override the agent heartbeat settings for a specific agent. A heartbeat is a periodic pulse from an agent to the Essentials management server that contains information related to the health of the agent. For more information, see Using the Device Management Node to Administer Essentials Agents.

To override the agent heartbeat setting for a specific agent

  1. In the Agent Properties dialog box, select Override global server settings.

  2. Change the Heartbeat interval value. The maximum value allowed for the heartbeat interval is 86,400 seconds (60 days). The minimum value allowed is 5 seconds.

  3. Click OK.
