Perform the following Model Editor procedures to edit a server hardware configuration or a server role.

If you want to apply a hardware configuration to server that is not listed, you can define a new hardware configuration in the Model Editor. You can also apply a hardware configuration used by another server in the capacity model to easily standardize hardware. A hardware configuration used by another server resembles SiteName\ServerName.

The server role includes a usage profile, list of software components, component service configuration, bit-width of the server's processor, and disk storage configuration. When you edit a server role, you cannot collocate certain server roles on the same server.

For a list of other tasks you can perform with the Capacity Planner Model Editor, see Capacity Planner Model Editor.
