The ISmsClient2::GetDnsSuffix method, in Configuration Manager, gets the DNS suffix for clients that locate their management point by using Domain Name System (DNS) publishing.

Data type: BSTRQualifiers: [out, retval]Pointer to the DNS suffix.

Return Value

An HRESULT code. Possible values include, but are not limited to, the following:

S_OK


The method succeeded.

Remarks

This method reads the registry key HKLM\Software\Microsoft\CCM\LocationServices\DnsSuffix. This registry key is used to locate the default management point for a given site code through DNS.
