Administering credentials

Some procedures might require permissions that a user does not have. You can configure a procedure to use the specific credentials of a user account that has the privileges required to perform the required actions. To do this, you must first set up the credentials in Provisioning Manager. A list of all credentials appears in the details pane of Provisioning Manager when you click the credentials folder in the console tree. After specifying the appropriate credentials, you can configure one or more procedures to execute using one of the listed credentials.

You can use Provisioning Manager to set the password for credentials. All credentials are maintained in a single location within Provisioning Manager to facilitate updates.

If you delete credentials, all procedures configured to use those credentials are automatically reconfigured so that they will no longer use those credentials.

For more information about implementing credentials, see Manage credentials and To view or modify the credentials used to execute a procedure.
