Microsoft Provisioning Framework SDK

The Microsoft® Provisioning Framework Software Development Kit (SDK) provides information and resources you can use to extend and customize Microsoft Provisioning Framework (MPF). For instance, it contains Microsoft Visual Studio add-ins that simplify the creation of custom providers.

Also included with the SDK is Microsoft Provisioning Framework Help, which provides detailed information about using the SDK, as well as general MPF deployment and operations information. This information includes the following:

• Descriptions of MPF, including MPF architecture and security
• Prerequisites, installation procedures, and other information for deploying MPF
• Details about customizing MPF, including detailed instructions for how to create and tailor providers and namespaces
• Descriptions of all standard providers and other namespaces
• Detailed information about the four application programming interfaces (APIs) in MPF, including the IProvEngine and IProvQueue, which can be used to submit requests
• Detailed information about all elements of the MPF provisioning schema
• Detailed information about the tools available for implementing and managing MPF components

The MPF installation CD contains both the Microsoft Provisioning Framework SDK and Microsoft Provisioning Framework Help (MPF.chm file). Microsoft Provisioning Framework Help is also available from the Start menu.
