Initializes the monitoring connector that is required to get alerts by calling GetMonitoringAlertsForTiers for all tiered Management Groups. The failures that occurred for the configured tiers are returned. Namespace: Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.ConnectorFramework
Assembly: Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.OperationsManager (in microsoft.enterprisemanagement.operationsmanager.dll)

Usage

Visual Basic
Dim instance As MonitoringConnector
Dim failures As IList(Of ConnectorTieredOperationFailure)

instance.InitializeForTiers(failures)

Syntax

Visual Basic
Public Sub InitializeForTiers ( _
		<OutAttribute> ByRef failures As IList(Of ConnectorTieredOperationFailure) _
)
C#
public void InitializeForTiers (
		out IList<ConnectorTieredOperationFailure> failures
)
C++
public:
void InitializeForTiers (
		[OutAttribute] IList<ConnectorTieredOperationFailure^>^% failures
)
J#
public void InitializeForTiers (
		/** @attribute OutAttribute() */ /** @ref */ IList<ConnectorTieredOperationFailure> failures
)
JScript

Parameters

failures

The array of failures that may have occurred for various tiers

Remarks

The MonitoringConnector must be set up and initialized before any alerts can be retrieved. This method initializes the monitoring connector for subsequent calls with the currently stored bookmark.

Attempting to InitializeForTiers a monitoring connector that is already initialized results in an exception with the "The connector is already in the given state." warning. It is advisable to perform a check of the Initialized property to determine if the monitoring connector is already initialized before attempting to InitializeForTiers the monitoring connector.
