The Gateway Approval tool is a command-line tool that is installed on the computer hosting the management server (or root management server) role in the management group. For more information, see How to Deploy the Gateway Approval Tool in Operations Manager 2007.

To ensure proper operation, you need to disable Auto-approve new manually installed agents before using the Gateway Approval tool. See How to Configure Security for Manual Agent Installs Setting for an Operations Manager 2007 Management Group
The following command-line options are required:
- /ManagementServerName=The FQDN of the
management server
- /GatewayName=The FQDN of the server that the
gateway was installed on
The following command-line options are optional:
- /SiteName=Site name of the site gateway
management server
- /Action={Create|Delete} Create or delete
gateway servers
To use the Gateway Approval tool

Log on to the computer with an account that is a member of the Administrators group.
Note Ensure that the account you log in with, while running the Gateway Approval Tool, has Write user rights to the Operations Manager database. For example, you can run the Gateway Approval Tool with the same credentials that you specified for the SDK and Config account. -
On the Windows desktop, click Start, and then click Run.

In the Run dialog box, type cmd and then click OK.

At the command prompt, type cd\<path to Operations Manager> and then press ENTER.

Type the following:
Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.GatewayApprovalTool /ManagementServerName=FQDN_name /GatewayName=gateway_server_FQDN_name

Press ENTER.
