Use the following procedure to configure alert settings for an Operations Manager 2007 management group.
To configure alert setting properties for a management group

In the Global Management Group Settings - Alerts dialog box, click New.

Click the Alert Resolution States tab, type a Resolution State, such as Assigned, select a unique ID, such as 64, and then click OK.

Click the Auto-Resolve Alerts tab, and do the following:
- Set Resolve all active alerts in the new
resolution state after to the desired number of days. The
minimum is 1 day and the maximum is 365 days. Active alerts that
are in the New state for longer than the specified number of
contiguous days will be automatically resolved.
- Set Resolve all active alerts when the
alert source is healthy after to the desired number of days.
The minimum is 1 day and the maximum is 365 days. Active alerts
from a managed object that is in a healthy state for longer than
the specified number of contiguous days will be automatically
resolved.
- Set Resolve all active alerts in the new
resolution state after to the desired number of days. The
minimum is 1 day and the maximum is 365 days. Active alerts that
are in the New state for longer than the specified number of
contiguous days will be automatically resolved.

Click OK.
