Use the following procedures to remove Operations Manager 2007 Reporting. You must first remove Reporting by using the Setup Wizard, then deploy and use the ResetSRS tool, and finish by using the Reporting Services Configuration Tool.

To use the Setup Wizard to remove Reporting

  1. Log on to the computer with an account that is a local administrator and has system administrator privileges on the Reporting data warehouse, system administrator privileges on the Operations Manager database, and membership in the Operations Manager administrator user role.

  2. On the Operations Manager 2007 installation media, double-click the SetupOM.exe file.

  3. On the Start page, click Install Operations Manager 2007 R2 Reporting.

  4. On the Welcome to Operations Manager 2007 R2 Reporting Setup page, click Next.

  5. On the Operations Manager 2007 Maintenance page, click Remove, and then click Next.

  6. On the Remove Operations Manager 2007 page, click Remove.

  7. On the Removing Operations Manager 2007 page, after Operations Manager 2007 Reporting has been removed, click Next.

  8. On the Completing the Operations Manager Reporting Components Setup Wizard page, click Finish.

  9. On the Start page, click Exit.

To deploy the ResetSRS tool

  1. On the installation media, locate the ResetSRS.exe file in the SupportTools folder.

  2. Copy the ResetSRS.exe file, and paste it into the installation folder for Operations Manager 2007, which is typically Program Files\System Center Operations Manager 2007.

To use the ResetSRS tool

  1. Log on to the computer with an account that is a member of the Administrators group.

  2. On the Windows desktop, click Start, and then click Run.

  3. In the Run dialog box, type cmd and then click OK.

  4. At the command prompt, type cd\<path to Operations Manager> and then press ENTER.

  5. Type the following:

    ResetSRS.exe <instance-id>

    Note
    If you have a default instance installed, the command you use is ResetSRS.exe MSSQLSERVER. If you installed Operations Manager using "Instance1", the command would be ResetSRS.exe Instance1.
  6. Press ENTER.

  7. At the Please enter the account to use for Setting up database connection prompt, type the domain\username that was used to set up Reporting, and then press ENTER.

    Note
    Be careful when entering the domain\username, because pressing BACKSPACE to make corrections is not supported with this tool.
  8. At the Please enter the password to use for Setting up database connection prompt, type the password for the account, and then press ENTER.

  9. No activity will display while the tool is running. The restoration of SQL Reporting Services is successful message will display when finished.

To use the Reporting Services Configuration Tool after uninstalling Reporting

  1. On the Windows desktop, click Start, point to Programs, click Microsoft SQL Server 2005, click Configuration Tools, and then click Reporting Services Configuration.

  2. In the Report Server Installation Instance Selection dialog box, click Connect.

  3. In the left pane, click Web Service Identity.

  4. In the Web Service Identity pane, click the Report Server menu, click the entry for the ReportServer$<instance name>, click Apply, and then click Exit.
