Use this page to specify the discovery method you want to use. The elements that appear depend on whether you elected to discover a computer or a network device.
If you elect to discover a computer, this page contains the elements described in the following table.

Scan Active Directory |
Enables you to specify that selected objects from Active Directory be scanned. |
Configure button |
Enables you to create a query to find objects to scan. |
Domain |
Enables you to enter or select from a list the domain of the computer or device. |
Browse for, or type-in computer names |
Enables you to browse for or type the names of the computers you want to discover. |
Browse button |
Enables you to browse for the computers you want to discover. |
Discover |
Initiates the discovery process. |
If you choose to discover a network device, this page contains the elements described in the following table.

Start |
The starting network address for the range of IP addresses that you want to scan for the network device. |
End |
The ending network address for the range of IP addresses that you want to scan for the network device. |
Community string |
The community name associated with the network device. |
Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) Community Version |
Provides a drop-down list from which you can choose a version of SNMP. |
Discovery Timeout |
Enables you to specify the elapse of time that will trigger a timeout. |
