Management Pack Author Mode

To create a Management Pack, you must enable author mode must on the Microsoft® Operations Manager (MOM) Management Server. Author mode activates user interface features in MOM that allow you to create and edit vendor-specific knowledge. It also enables advanced properties on rules, groups, and other items that are read-only or disabled by default.

To enable author mode

1. In the Navigation pane, expand Microsoft Operations Manager, and then expand Management Packs.
2. Right-click Rule Groups, and click Enable Authoring mode.

To disable author mode

1. In the Navigation pane, expand Microsoft Operations Manager, and then expand Management Packs.
2. Right-click Rule Groups, and then click Disable Authoring mode.
