Create a New Performance View

Create a new Performance view using the Navigation pane in the Operator console.

Members of MOM Administrators and MOM Authors can create new views anywhere in an active view, Public Views, or My Views. Members of MOM Users can create a new view only in My Views.

You can create a new view in any existing folder, or create a new folder. To create a new folder, right-click an existing folder, point to New, and then click Folder.

To create a new Performance view

  1. In the Navigation pane, click Performance, right-click the folder for the rule group where you want to create the view, point to New, and click Performance Viewto open the Create New - Performance Viewdialog box.
  2. In the Which computers do you want to view?list, select the type of computer that you want to use in the view.
  3. The View descriptionlist is dynamically populated with criteria that correspond to your selection. Click the link that is associated with the type of computer that you selected. This action opens a dialog box to provide more information that is used to qualify your computer selection.
  4. When finished entering this required information, click OK.
  5. Click Nextto continue.
  6. In the View namebox, type a name. You can optionally type a description in the Descriptionbox.
  7. Click Finishto complete the creation of the view.

Example

The procedure in the following example creates a new Performance view for computers with a specified name.

  1. In the Navigation pane, click Performance, right-click the folder for the rule group where you want to create the view, point to New, and click Performance Viewto open the Create New - Performance Viewdialog box.
  2. In the Which computers do you want to view?list, select with specified name.
  3. The View descriptionlist is dynamically populated with criteria that correspond to your selection. Click specifiedto open the Namedialog box.
  4. In the Domainand Computerboxes, type a domain name and computer name, and then click OK.

    You can type the entire name, or use wildcards for both the domain and computer names.

  5. Click Nextto continue.
  6. In the View Namebox, type MyNewPerformance. In the Descriptionbox, type A sample Performance view.
  7. Click Finish.
