The available data for a Computers view is displayed in the Results pane when you click the Computer view name in the Navigation pane of the MOM Operator console. You can also click the computer name in Public Viewsor My Viewsin the Navigation pane. Each row in the Results pane is a data instance generated for the view.
By default, all of the data for all of the computer groups in the scope that you are using is displayed. For example, if you are logged on with an account that is a member of the MOM Administrator group, you see all of the data for the MOM Administrator Scope. If you want to refine the selection of data in the Results pane, select a specific computer group in the MOM Administrator Scope from the Computer Grouplist, such as Microsoft Operations Manager 2005 Agents. The Computers view displays the data by using a predetermined selection of elements (seen as column headings) that are organized in a predetermined order. You can sort the data in ascending or descending order by clicking the column title that you want to use as a sort criterion.
If you want to change the data elements that are displayed as columns, or their sequence, right-click anywhere in the Results pane and click Personalize Viewto open the Personalize Viewdialog box.
The dialog box lists the Available columnsand the Displayed columns.
The following tables summarize the displayed and available column titles, or data fields, for a Computers view.

New Alerts | Specifies the number of alerts with a resolution state of New. |
Service Unavailable | Specifies the number of unresolved alerts with a severity level of Service Unavailable. |
Security Issue | Specifies the number of unresolved alerts with an alert severity level of Security Issue. |
Critical Error | Specifies the number of unresolved alerts with a severity level of Critical Error. |

To see or change the Event view properties, right-click anywhere in the Results pane and click Computer View Propertiesto open the Computer View Propertiesdialog box. This dialog box has two tabs that you can work with: Criteriaand General.

If you do not specify any computers, all the computers in the management group are part of the Computers view.

- This tab has two input areas: View nameand Description. The description is optional. You can change the name or description by clicking the appropriate text boxes to delete or add text.

To view alerts, events, and performance information, right-click the computer name, and then click Alerts, Events, or Performance.
Work with View Details
When you click Computers and Groups, the Computers view appears. On the navigation pane, click the Computersnode to obtain information about discovered computers that is displayed in the Results and Detail panes in the center of your screen. Select a computer in the Results pane. Information about the selected computer appears in the Detail pane below the results.
The following Computers view attributes are displayed in the Detail pane.
- Attributes
- When you click Attributes, the following computer attributes, where available, are displayed in the Detail pane. The following fields are displayed as column headings: Attribute Name, Value, Computer Name, and Domain Name. You can sort this data in ascending or descending order by clicking on a column title.
- Rule Groups
- When you click Rule Groups, any associated rule groups are displayed in the Detail pane. The following fields are displayed as column headings: Rule Group, Associated Computer Group, Computer Name, and Domain Name. You can sort these rule groups in ascending or descending order by clicking on a column title.
- Computer Groups
- When you click Computer Groups, any associated computer groups are displayed in the Detail pane. The following fields are displayed as column headings: Computer Group, Description, Computer Name, Domain Name. You can sort these rule groups in ascending or descending order by clicking on a column title.
- Roles
- When you click Roles, a hierarchical view of all the computers is displayed in the Detail pane according to their role. For example, the MOM Agent Node. A table is associated with the node label. In this example the table displays the following data: Instance Name, Action Account Identity, Agent Version, Backup MOM Servers Per Management Group, Management Group Membership, Name, and Primary MOM Server Per Management Group.
