During installation, the Microsoft® Operations Manager (MOM) setup program creates local groups on the computer where MOM Server is installed.
MOM uses five groups to manage access to MOM features. These groups are:
- MOM Administrators
- MOM Authors
- MOM Users
- SC DW DTS
- SC DW Reader
The permissions associated with each group are designed with user roles in mind. For example, a member of MOM Authors cannot alter global settings or add managed computers, but can export Management Packs or create rules.
A sixth group, MOM Service, is intended solely for use by MOM services and processes.
Note
Individuals should not be a member of this group.
