Alert View Properties: Criteria

Criteria
This tab has two input areas, one for selecting alerts and one for specifying the corresponding descriptive parameters that are used to qualify the alert. In the Which alerts do you want to view?list, select an alert by clicking the check box beside the alert you want. When you select an alert, a corresponding hyperlink is displayed in the View description (click the underlined value to edit)input area. Click the hyperlink to open a dialog box, and then type the required information in the text box. The following table lists the available alerts and describes the associated information that you are prompted to provide.
Alert Required view description information
from specified source Click the link to open the Sourcedialog box. Type a complete text string or use wildcards to identify the alert source. Click OK.
with specified alert severity Click the link to open the Severitydialog box. Select the appropriate check box to identify the level of severity that you want to use. Click OK.
generated in a specific time period Click the link to open the Date and Time Generateddialog box. Select the appropriate check boxes and options to specify a time range or a time interval. Click OK.
owned by specified person Click the link to open the Ownerdialog box. Type a complete text string or use wildcards to identify the alert owner. Click OK.
with specified text in alert description Click the link to open the Descriptiondialog box. Type a complete text string or use wildcards to identify the alert description. Click OK.
raised by specified computer Click the link to open the Computer Namedialog box. Type a complete text string or use wildcards to provide the Domainand Computerinformation. Click OK.
with specified resolution state Click the link to open the Resolution Statedialog box. Under ( Select resolution states to search for:), select a check box beside a resolution state . The available resolution states are:
  • Level 4: Assigned to external group or vendor
  • Acknowledged
  • Level 1: Assigned to help desk or local support
  • Level 2: Assigned to subject matter expert
  • Level 3: Requires scheduled maintenance
  • Resolved
  • New

You can use an alternative option, Display only alerts with resolution state:, to apply one of the following logical operators:

  • Equals
  • Not Equals
  • Less Than
  • At Most
  • Greater Than
  • At Least
  • Like

against one of these states:

  • Resolved
  • Acknowledged
  • Level 1: Assigned to help desk or local support
  • Level 2: Assigned to subject matter expert
  • Level 3: Requires scheduled maintenance
  • Level 4: Assigned to external group or vendor
  • New
Click OK.
that violated specified service level agreement Click the link to open the Service Level Exceptiondialog box. Under Custom service level agreement, accept or change the time parameters listed. The available choices are:
  • longer than 10 minutes in state: New
  • longer than 0 days in state: Resolved
  • longer than 20 minutes in state: Acknowledged
  • longer than 4 hours in state: Level 1: Assigned to help desk or local support
  • longer than 2 days in state: Level 2: Assigned to subject matter expert
  • longer than 7 days in state: Level 3: Requires scheduled maintenance
  • longer than 30 days in state: Level 4: Assigned to external group or vendor

An alternative is to switch to the Default company service level agreement. Click OK.

with specified name Click the link to open the Alert Namedialog box. Type a complete text string or use wildcards to search for the alert name. Click OK.
with specified string in CustomField n Click the link to open the Custom Field ndialog box. Type a complete text string or use wildcards to search for the text in a custom field.
Note  Note   

You might not see Custom Field nas an option. You can change the name of a custom field, or your MOM Administrator might have changed the custom field names.

Click OK.

with specified GUID Click the link to open the Alert GUIDdialog box. Type the GUID that you want to search for. Click OK.
raised by computers in a specified group Click the link to open the Computer Groupdialog box. Type a complete text string or use wildcards to search for the computer group name. Click OK.
with specified Computer CustomData n Click the link to open the Computer Custom Data ndialog box. Type a complete text string or use wildcards to search for the custom data field. Click OK.
