Rule Properties: Knowledge Authoring

Use this tab to specify the comments for the Knowledge Base entry.

This tab contains the following options:

Sections

Select a Knowledge Base section that will help a Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM) administrator resolve the alert. For example, document the possible Causesand Resolutionsof the alert.

Section text

Type content that applies to the section that you selected above.

Other rules that share this knowledge entry:

Displays the Rule GUID for other rules that share the same Knowledge Base content.

To add comments to a Knowledge Base section,

1. In the Sectionslist box, select the section in which you want to add content.
2. In the Section textbox, type the related content.
3. Click Generate Knowledge Baseto update the content.

To share knowledge between rules

• Click Share newto enter the GUID of the rules for which you want to share knowledge.

    Note   

  Avoid overusing this feature. It is important to provide specific and complete resolution information for each rule that you create.

  To stop sharing knowledge between rules and Select the Rule GUID and click Stop sharing.
