Microsoft® Operations Manager (MOM) 2005 is a comprehensive server monitoring solution that helps manage the availability, performance, and security of Windows-based networks and applications. MOM can provide central monitoring and automatic problem resolution for computer networks whose volume scales-up to thousands of computers on the network. MOM can continuously monitor user actions, application software, servers, and desktop computers running Microsoft Windows® 2000 Server or later. MOM can monitor, manage, and secure a wide range of resources, including computers, applications, server farms, e-commerce sites, and corporate servers. MOM provides proactive real-time system monitoring for Windows-based servers and computers throughout the extended enterprise. You can use MOM by itself or implement a solution that includes other Microsoft products, such as Microsoft Exchange. Microsoft Operations Manager 2005 provides the following benefits:
