SNMP Version 3 Security
As of version 3 of SNMP, new features
were added to provide greater security over the SNMP protocol. The
Client enables you to create and manage the different security
access that may be required to log into your network devices.
To add SNMP version 3
security credentials:
1.

Select the Options menu and click SNMP.

Click Add. The User Properties dialog appears.
|
User name
|
Type the user name that will be
used to identify these credentials. When using SNMP version 3
within an SNMP object you will need to set the User name field to the value specified
in this field.

Authentication Protocol
|
Select the type of encryption to
use when connecting with this user. See the documentation for your
network device to determine the appropriate encryption.

Authentication Password
|
Type the password that will be
used to log in over the Authentication Protocol.
|
Privacy Protocol
|
Select the privacy protocol that
you want to use. See the documentation for your network device to
determine the appropriate protocol.

Privacy Password
|
Type the password that will be
used to log in over the Privacy Protocol.

To remove an item, select it and
click Remove.
To modify an item, select it and
click Modify.
