Purging Logs
Opalis Integration Server enables you to manage the size of your logs by enabling you to purge log entries as needed or on a scheduled basis.
To open the Log Purge Configuration dialog:
1.
In the Connections pane of the Client, right-click on the name of the Management Server.
2.
From the pop-up menu, select Log Purge. The Log Purge Configuration dialog appears.
3.
Configure the log purge operation.
To configure a log purge schedule:
1.
Open the Log Purge Configuration dialog.
2.
Check the Schedule Log Purge check box.
3.
Select the options for the schedule:
Run once – select this option to run this schedule only once, then select a start time.
Run every – select this option to run this schedule on a regular basis, then select a start time.
Start time – configure the time that the scheduled log purge will run.
4.
Configure the log purge options (see below for instructions) and click Finish.
To configure log purge options:
You must configure the log purge options whether you are creating a scheduled log purge or want to purge the logs now.
1.
If you are creating a scheduled log purge, configure the schedule (see above).
2.
Select one of the following log purge options:
Keep last <n> entries – type the number of most recent log entries that you want to keep when you purge the log.
Keep entries for the last <n> days – type the number of most recent days that you want to keep log entries for when you purge the log.
If the number of entries exceeds <n> – if the number of logs exceeds a certain number, purge the entire log. Type that number in the field.
In addition to the options above, you can also select the following option by typing a number in the field:
delete entries older than <n> days – if log entries are older than this number of days, they will be purged.
3.
If you want to purge the log now, continue with the instructions below.
To purge a log now:
1.
Configure the log purge options in the Log Purge Options area of the Log Purge Configuration dialog.
2.
Click the Purge Now button.
