Configuring Primary and Standby
Action Servers
By default, the first Action Server
that you deploy becomes the primary Action Server. You can change
the default roles and designate another machine as primary, and
change the order of the standby machines.
After you change the Action Server
role or order, restart all Policies that are running on the
affected Action Servers. This applies the changes to the
Policies.
To Designate the Primary
Action Server Machine:

In the Connections pane, click the
Action Servers icon. The
list of your Action Servers appears in the Workspace.

Right-click on the Action Server
that you want to designate as primary. The pop-up menu
appears.

3.
|
Select Promote to Primary. The Action Server
becomes the primary Action Server, and the Role column displays the word
Primary.
|
4.
|
Restart all Policies that are
running on the affected Action Servers.
|
To Designate the Standby
Action Server Order:
By default, the second Action Server
that you deploy becomes the first standby Action Server. The third
Action Server that you deploy becomes the second standby Action
Server, and so on. You can change the order in which standby Action
Servers will be used.

In the Connections pane, click the
Action Servers icon. The
list of your Action Servers appears in the Workspace.

Right-click on a standby Action
Server. The pop-up menu appears.

3.

Select one of the following
options:

|
Promote – select this option to assign
the standby Action Server a higher level in the standby rank.
|
•
|
Demote – select this option to assign
the standby Action Server a lower level in the standby rank.
|
4.
|
Restart all Policies that are
running on the affected Action Servers.
