Own/Disown Message
The Own/Disown Message object allows you to set the owner of a message to the Operator user you specified in the HP OpenView Operations (Unix) Options dialog. You can also use the Own/Disown Message object to clear the ownership of a message. The Update Message, Acknowledge Message, Own/Disown Message, and Add Annotation to Message objects will automatically give ownership of the message that they are updating to the Operator user that has been configured.
How it is used
You can use the Own/Disown Message object to give ownership of a message to user that signifies that the message is being processed by an automated Policy.
Configuration
To configure the Own/Disown Message object you need to know the OpenView Operations server that you are connecting to and the message that you are taking ownership of.
General tab
 
ID Number
Type the ID of the message that you are updating. Opalis Software, Inc. recommends that you use Published Data from the Create Message, Acknowledge Message, Own/Disown Message, Get Message, Add Annotation to Message, Update Message, or Monitor Message objects to specify the ID of the message.
Own
Give ownership of the message to the Operator user that you have specified in the HP OpenView Operations (Unix) Options dialog.
Disown
Remove the ownership of the message.

Description
Message Id
The Id of the message that was updated.
OVO Operator
The name of the OVO Operator user account that was used to update the message.
OVO server
The name of the OpenView Operations server where the message is stored.
Ownership
The ownership action that was taken. This value will be "Own" or "Disown".
